La Fortaleza

It is also known as the Palacio de Santa Catalina.  La Fortaleza is the official home for the Governor of Puerto Rico and his family.  It is also the oldest governor’s home in the western hemisphere. It was completed in 1540 as a fortress and renovated in 1846 as the governor’s house.
